Finnish modern furniture designer and the professor h.c. Eero Aarnio is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. He’s experiments with plastic, vivid colours and organic forms in the 1960s broke away from traditional design conventions and gave an own mark to Eero Aarnio’s work. Aarnio’s designs represents the 1960s popular culture and could often be seen as part of sets in period science-fiction films. The Ball chair -with the hollow sphere – and the hanging transparent Bubble Chair are two of Aarnio’s most known designs. His iconic plastic creations e.g. the famous Pony chair and Double Bubble lamp have now worked out in design reflectors.
